A FIRM WILL launch a search engine tomorrow which it says is based on a four million document index and will compete with mega search site Google.

Kartoo said its next gen search engine, http://www.ujiko.com/, uses its own proprietary technology to customise results. The site, which uses flash, allows users to filter results they don't want showing again, and put preferences for those they like.

The data for the search, said Kartoo, is stored on the local computer. It claims that the more Ujiko is used, the better results it delivers. µ
